I think there is no need to tell you, that your PR0X (your virtual character) is absolutely not welcome in this dark version of cyberspace. Some guidance can be deceitful and corrupting. Some places are psychedelic, it playes with glitches, it's an orgasm of shaders and effects.

This game contains puzzles, exploration, platforming and shooter elements, all wrapped in a dense atmosphere. It's changing from wild to creepy and back. A unique audio-visual trip.

Characters and their beliefs are pure fiction. Gameplay slightly changes as your PR0X gets transformed and upgraded by progress... Decompiler-Guns inclusive. Find out what you're supposed to do by collecting corrupted DATA CUBES.  Switch between NormalView and AssemblerView (right click) to see hidden things.

It's incredible, well done!

Pretty Hard, as in pretty but hard...

The game has a really incredible visual style that's well supported by the shaders, effects and animations. Everything from the intricate engravings on the walls to the robotic voices you hear at some points really show the '82 tron influence while giving it a slightly more pixelated feel (which also reminded me a bit of hyper light drifter).

Sadly, the gameplay and level design don't really follow the path set by the visuals. The controls of the characters are not that precise (especially the weird delay before stopping you sometimes get when pressing a movement key) which doesn't sit well with the platforming sections. That paired with a death recovery time that feels too long for the number of times you die trying to overcome the obstacles makes it all the more frustrating...
The difficulty is thus all over the place.
You've got really hard platforming sections in the beginning of the game (like with the tube and later the moving platforms) while also having sections you can basically just walk through (the red corridors w/ elevators between them).

Speaking of the moving platforms, the game has a reoccurring issue of missing the hitboxes of interactable elements when clicking (maybe due to alt-tabbing and/or the mouse cursor?). This is especially frustrating during the platforming sections where you need to make a path from platforms that aren't properly targetable because the hitboxes seem to be off. The same thing applies for the collectable memory-box-things where it's really fiddly to collect because of said bug.
There's also a slight readability issue with not really knowing which wall/surface is actually tangible and which one isn't, though that's a minor complaint.

I ended up being stuck in the big space where you have to extend the bridge. I completed the puzzles (which are quite fun tbh) of each sub station but didn't manage to find the proper code to extend the bridge despite having looked around for at least 10 minutes. I thought it may be a bug and thought i'd try restarting the game, and with no 'save' option in the menu I expected that the game would auto-save, which it didn't, leaving me with an hour of progress lost. I hope you'll understand that I didn't restart it after that.

All things considered, the game is a great visual and technical achievement, which would be already greatly improved by first fixing the targeting/hitbox issue, speeding up the death recovery, and clarifying how/when the game saves.
Some more improvement options would be to rework the level design/pacing to ease the difficulty a bit more. I haven't been able to try the combat but would like to see how it works.

I hope you'll be able to fix/improve on these issues as while the gameplay has issues, the incredible visuals were what had me playing for an hour, and I'd like to see more of them.

Bonsoir, monsieur. Your feedback sounds painful and i'm sad that my game tortured you. You won't play again so i try to reduce this to important points. 2 Updates got pushed. I put a 3min gameplay clip on this page, showing first steps, these platforms you wrote about and how to interact.

Edit: Tabbing out of Window without pausing the Game caused mouse position fail -> FIXED /Edit End
Game gets saved on every Streamback-Point in first level (like shown in the video), that wasn't the case in older builds. Walkcycle-delay doesn't appear when key shortly pressed but character controller gets replaced anyway. 
Walls that switch collider (in current version v009) got a sign : "DataGate Active"

...exactly,  just erase the first word and you get the view of someone who iterated through design, story and gameplay over months. A place of corruption not made by man but machine, yet it leads strait to the next map. I just wanted to clarify that my comment wasn't made as an insult to the game or a definitive statement on why/if it's good or not but as feedback on what I thought would help improve the experience. I did not mean it in an angry/rude way and I apologize if it felt like it was (which looking back at it I understand if you did take it that way).

I just pushed another update 5 minutes ago with a FIX for the altTabbing out of window stuff that caused a lot of other problems that you reported.  I already edited the comment for the fixed stuff and was right on my way to twitter to message you and thank you (i thought you never come back here ๐Ÿ˜„). part way through it, such a meticulously crafted experience in what i can only describe as a lovecraft-esque cyber horror story.

i'd like to make a suggestion to this, and if possible the other games in the series: i desperately want to follow the story but the bits are virtually incomprehensible, but having played through the rest of the series, i know you want to keep that cuperspace aesthetic, so i believe the best way to go about it would be to add in a "module" to the plox that allows a lost-to-time archaic decrypter to reform the bits into a less-understandable-to-them version but allows the players to read it while being immersed.

alternatively, you could add in an option in the config that makes the bits "dyslexia friendly."

hopefully you consider doing this. i'd love to understand the story better but it's just gibberish to me as it is.

You're welcome and i think other players will welcome these new functions too. To me they make much sense. I always take care of players of my games but i have to admit that i'm currently facing some heavy problems here. Eventually I'll implement these new functions to Episode One and Two... but first i must win the war vs some critical unity engine flaws. ๐Ÿ’ฅ Happy Devastation!

Loved the game, a little confusing at first, and I figure out later that I encountered some type of bug where when I tabbed out, where I was clicking wasn't connected to where I was looking, I get somewhat annoyed at that but I figure it out in part 2, anyways I absolutely LOVED how this looked, didnt finish it cause I encountered another bug where I messed up the zoom in from the combat mode, anyways I may finish it later, very fun, just a great time to look around and take in the CYBERSPACE

I loved the story idea and from the pics I loved the graphics but I when I played it, it gave me headache litterly because of the way the graphics are constantly in and out of focus but even in spite of that I tried to play three and was very very confused on where I was suppose to be going and what I was suppose to be doing. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was because I was so hoping this was going to be good and the story seemed like an awesome premises. yet it is way too confusing and all I kept doing is ending back where I started with no idea of how to progress. 

Thanks for trying and for the rant. Now i'm also pretty much disappointed as according to your comment it's hopeless and nothing to improve.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply - I strive to think out loud in my videos because I want the viewer (aswell as the developer) to be able to comprehend what is going in my head when playing. As a first-impression feedback of sorts. I believe my previous experience with Transhumanistic media such as Deus Ex, Matrix etc helped me grasp the story more quickly.

I love love love this style of game!  Takes me right back to Tron and that digital nostalgia with a fantasy world inside computers.
Amazing work!  I was able to play in Linux without any issues!

Im on manjaro but when i try to open it a blue screen appears and then the game close, is there any solution?

I'm also using manjaro. Whats your 3d hardware specifications/vendor etc?  Do other unity games act the same?

I have intel 3rd gen graphics and a i5-3320M , this is the only one that does that, if i run the windows version with wine it runs perfectly

The game's definitely interesting, but for the most part, I had a somewhat hard time progressing. (that might be just me though) Visual effects are really good though. I kinda wish there was some sort of tutorial for first timer in the meloveyou series. But I get why people like the game.

Unlike anything I've ever played before!

This game reminds me of games like Yume Nikki for some reason. Except here, you're not exploring a dream world, but Cyberspace!

This game truly takes visuals into another level. The graphics are trippy and just stunning, everything has a pattern, moves, changes colors, etc. You can stare at literally anything in this game!

The other thing I liked about this game is how it gives control to the player, which is not something you see often these days. You can read these corrupted boxes, which will give you more information about the world. The puzzles are interesting, you find out what to do by exploration and just trying different things out.

The music and sounds also compliment the atmosphere really well. I think it's something that's hard to nail, but has been done well in this game.

Well, this is what I like about discovering games on itch.io. You can tell that the creator put a lot of work and love into this game. Definitely recommend checking this game out!

My god, that game was fun and psychedelic, if you can call it that haha!

The graphics were amazing. Although sometimes a little too much and a little confusing, it looks gorgeous and fits the theme incredibly well! I can imagine it is incredibly hard to create a good looking computer world! The audio is really great too and compliments the in-game happenings really well!

The story is actually really good, if you catch what is going on! You can so easily get lost in the chaotic action. But if you take your time to explore and find the boxes, the pieces will eventually form the bigger picture. The narrator definitely helps with this problem and sets the story straight from the start at at the end.

Overall, and amazing game! A certain 5/5 star game. Good work!

100% mindblown by it. I'm replaying Tron 2.0 nowadays and this feels like Tron 9000 on steroids + DMT. The visuals are an absolute perfection and I can see myself playing this for many years to come. Thank you for making it!

Hiiii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it :D, hopefully it is useful to you :)

-The concept of the game is pretty interesting and original.

-The gameplay mechanics and the way you can interact with the level itself is pretty well thought despite of needing some polish to make it easy to get into for new players.

-The visual style is awesome and original too, but sometimes it has an excess of lighting effects, especially when respawning.
